In 1999, the cemetery opened a pet section located along the north side, bordering the wood-line which offers a beautiful resting-place for those we have come to love as one of the family. A dog, Boss Phillipy, interred in May 2000, occupied the first space; and the first cat, Buckwheat Akers, was buried in August 2002. Today there are over 73 million dogs and 90 million cats living in our homes. The number one reason a person owns a pet is companionship; love, company and affection. Most owners consider their pets part of their families and they enjoy the same benefits as the humans in the family including pet services and gifts. Many pet owners don't know this type of service is available. Certainly, people don't want to think about the loss of their pet, but all pet owners do understand that it is inevitable. The greatest benefit of this service is the dignity with which we treat pets and their owners. If you would like more information, please contact us at 765-472-2493.
